Iqony supports local authorities on their journey to climate-neutrality

Iqony is the ideal partner for local authorities and municipal companies in their switch to green energy. Iqony develops modern distributed supply solutions, without which an energy transition in cities and municipalities is not possible. Our know-how includes analyzing potentials, and planning, implementing and operating energy generation and distribution systems.

Iqony develops efficient and decentralized strategies for municipal energy supply with renewable energy sources and technologies. We have also been managing energy generation plants and energy networks, such as local heating networks, at the municipal level for many years. In doing so, we are the owner, EPC contractor or deploy our engineering expertise on behalf of the customer. This ensures optimum plant operation.

We analyze, design and build the decentralized infrastructure needed for the energy transition. Decarbonization requires the use of all sources available at the municipal level: from waste heat to generating our own electricity, which is also used to supply the charging infrastructure, through to green hydrogen. In this way, all public areas and local authority departments become CO2-free. In the course of this restructuring, we enable a high level of security of supply by means of mobile energy centers.

The municipal energy transition also includes greater energy efficiency. We achieve this with digital analyses and energy studies, and with monitoring of generation and consumption. In this way, we achieve a higher level of energy efficiency in all areas.

Distributed facilities

In the future, municipalities in particular will supply themselves with green electricity and green heat to a much greater extent than is the case today. Ultimately, for reasons of efficiency alone, energy should always be generated where it is needed.

Energy studies

If a local authority wants to switch to renewable energies, it first needs a comprehensive analysis of how much energy is consumed in which areas, which generation capacities are required for this and how the distribution takes place.

Green heating networks

Distributed energy supply also means decentralized heat production and distribution. One way to achieve this is through heating networks that use locally available fuels or other heat sources in the municipalities to guarantee an efficient and, above all, ecologically sound heat supply.

Charging infrastructure

Without electromobility, there will be no transformation of the transport sector. Local authorities will not only have to convert their own vehicle fleets, but also provide sufficient charging opportunities for residents.
