Iqony supports Swiss Federal Administration
Federal Office of Energy plans energy reserve for Switzerland
Bern/Essen. To safeguard the power supply in cases of extraordinary energy shortage, Switzerland is planning to create a supplementary energy reserve with a capacity of up to 1,000 megawatts (MW). In the planning and implementation of this reserve, the Swiss Federal Administration will be supported by the energy experts of Iqony Solutions GmbH.
The future energy reserve is to consist of reserve power plants, emergency power groups and combined heat and power (CHP) plants. These plants are not usually in operation, but are available if the power supply can no longer be ensured by the regular power plants alone.
Iqony Solutions with successful bid
The Swiss Federal Office of Energy issued a public invitation to tender for the preparation of the tender documents, the implementation of the tendering process and the evaluation of the bids received. The contract was awarded to Iqony Solutions GmbH.
