Second public dialog on the planned construction of a new gas-fired power plant in Bergkamen

Steag Iqony Group provides information on 7 April at the Heil power plant

Bergkamen/Essen. The Steag Iqony Group cordially invites you to the second public dialog on the planned gas-fired power plant in Bergkamen, which will focus on the route planning for the gas pipeline to the power plant.

The public dialog will take place on Monday, 7 April 2025, at 6 p.m. in the Citizens' Information Center of the Bergkamen power plant, Westenhellweg 111. The central topic of the event is the presentation of the current planning status of the future gas pipeline route to supply the planned new gas-fired power plant at the site. Representatives of the Steag Iqony Group project will be present to present the plans and answer questions from the public.

Iqony had already organized an initial public dialogue in June 2024, during which the new construction project for a gas-fired power plant on the power plant site in Bergkamen was presented to interested members of the public for the first time. The planned power plant is an important step in the Steag Iqony Group's coal phase-out and the energy transition in Germany as a whole and is intended to contribute to security of supply in times when renewable energies are not available in sufficient quantities.
