On the sunny side thanks to SENS

Photovoltaic roof system implemented for the Kesseböhmer group of companies

Bohmte/Würzburg/Essen. Iqony Solar Energy Solutions GmbH (SENS) has installed a photovoltaic system with an output of one megawatt (MWp) on the roof of a production facility operated by Kesseböhmer Warenpräsentation GmbH & Co. KG in Bohmte, in the district of Osnabrück, Germany. A total of 2,630 solar panels were installed as part of the project and are now waiting to be connected to the grid.

The assembly and installation of the PV roof system on the production shop of Kesseböhmer Warenpräsentation GmbH & Co. KG in Bohmte has been successfully completed. The grid connection is planned for the spring of this year, as soon as all the technical components for connecting the system to the local power grid are available.

“We, too, are noticing the current delivery problems in procuring all the necessary materials. Nevertheless, we attach great importance to the ability to plan projects, which is why we approach our customers frankly right from the start and draw up realistic project plans,” says Bernd Retzlik, Senior Sales Manager at SENS, explaining the current situation on the PV market.

One megawatt system also benefits the community
As soon as the grid connection is made in the coming weeks, the electricity generated from renewable sources will mainly be used for the production facilities of Kesseböhmer Warenpräsentation at the Bohmte site: “That means we will have made the best possible use of the roof area at our site,” says Jürgen Unland, Head of Plant Supply at Kesseböhmer in Dahlinghausen, who is supporting the project across all the company’s locations, and also in Bohmte. “In the future, around 80 percent of our self-generated electricity will be used for our own energy needs. This is a big step for us, which SENS has helped us to implement in a very uncomplicated way,” Jürgen Unland continues.

The remaining 20 percent of the climate-friendly electricity will be fed into the local power grid. In this way, not only Kesseböhmer but also the residents of Bohmte will benefit from the new plant.

Further PV plant for Kesseböhmer already planned
Currently, the two partners already have their eye on the next project: In neighboring Bad Essen, SENS will erect another PV facility for the Kesseböhmer group of companies. This will in future have an output of 1.3 MWp. “All the preparations for this project are in full swing, and so the work can start in spring this year,” says Bernd Retzlik from SENS.
