Purchasing and the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act: Responsibility for people and the environment

Purchasing plays a crucial role in implementing sustainability and social responsibility in the company. The new Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG) further strengthens this responsibility and obliges us to check our supply chains for potential risks to people and the environment.

The Supply Chain Due Diligence Act aims to prevent human rights violations, environmental damage and other adverse impacts along the entire supply chain. In the future, we will be obliged to ensure that our suppliers and partner companies also comply with sustainable practices.

In purchasing, this means that we have to pay more attention to where products and raw materials come from. It is important for manufacturers and suppliers to comply with ethical standards such as fair working conditions, appropriate payment and environmental protection.

Our Code of Conduct is intended to encourage our employees and business partners to act on their own responsibility and provide orientation in their daily work, aiming at conformity as well as compliance with societal, cultural and social norms and values.

We have set ourselves the goal of always living up to our responsibility for our supply chains in accordance with the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

We are committed to respecting human rights and complying with environmental obligations in our business and within our supply chains.

The human rights and environmental due diligence processes are anchored in our business strategy. They are of great importance in all corporate decisions. In the Policy Statement on Respect for Human Rights and Environmental Standards, we have outlined how we implement the requirements of the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act.
