Iqony appoints new CFO
Susanne Pietsch succeeds Ralf Schmitz as Chief Financial Officer. He remains on the board as CTO.
Essen. Iqony GmbH is making personnel changes at the top of the company: Susanne Pietsch, currently Head of Finance at Iqony, has been appointed as the company’s new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). She takes over from Ralf Schmitz, who will initially remain a member of the management board as Chief Transformation Officer (CTO) before leaving the company as planned with the final closing of the sale of STEAG GmbH to Asterion Industrial Partners. Susanne Pietsch is the first woman to join the management board in the history of the long-established Essen-based energy group.
The new Chief Financial Officer Susanne Pietsch can look back on more than ten years of experience at STEAG and Iqony. Since 2011, she has held various management positions in the Group, particularly in the area of finance. For several years in each case, she headed Group Accounting, Financial Management in the context of project development, the Executive Office and Accounting. From March 2022 to March 2023, she served as director of AOK Systems GmbH.
In spring 2023, she returned to Iqony, initially to take over the management of the finance department on a transitional basis. With the sale of Iqony, she now as planned succeeds Ralf Schmitz as Chief Financial Officer, who played a key role in preparing and implementing the transformation and ultimately the sale process on an interim basis, first at STEAG since July 2021 and then at Iqony since the beginning of 2023. He will leave the management board as soon as the sale process has been successfully completed.
Change on the management board
“I am very much looking forward to actively driving and helping to shape Iqony’s successful course in my new position on the management board,” says Susanne Pietsch. Following the successful sale of the company, the aim is to tackle Iqony’s growth targets, with tailwind from the investor.
CEO and Labor Director Andreas Reichel, on behalf of the management, is looking forward to working with Susanne Pietsch in the future: “The change in the position of CFO, which has now been completed, shows that the process of the strategic realignment of the Group is progressing as planned. As Head of Finance at Iqony, Susanne Pietsch has played a significant role in this success in recent months. In this respect, her appointment is also an appreciation of her work to date. As the general management, we are very much looking forward to working with her even more intensively in her new role in the future.”
Ralf Schmitz also points out the important role of the new CFO: “Susanne Pietsch is an experienced financial expert who also knows the company and its team first-hand thanks to several years of experience. With her, Iqony is ideally positioned for the upcoming tasks of the future.”
Four-strong management team for Iqony
In addition to Susanne Pietsch as CFO and Ralf Schmitz in his role as CTO, the Iqony management board continues to include Dr. Andreas Reichel as CEO and Labor Director, and Dr. Ralf Schiele as COO.
